The founder and one of the Directors of this Hospital is Prof. S Vittal MS, FRCS, (Edin) FICS, FIMSA, FAIS, FTASc. He is an internationally acclaimed Surgeon who has been acknowledged as the Father of Endocrine Surgery in India. He has been instrumental in creating the Department Of Surgical Endocrinology in Govt. General Hospital, Chennai, the first of its kind in India. His special field of interest is the treatment of disorders of thyroid gland. He has a special passion for teaching having been a teacher for both Undergraduate and Post graduate students for more than three decades. He is an Emeritus Professor of Surgical Endocrinology in The Tamilnadu Dr M G R Medical University.

  Prestigious “B.C. Roy Award” for the year 1995 for creating the speciality of Surgical Endocrinolgy in India.

 Royal College Of Surgeons of India – Indian Chapter awarded a “Silver Medallion” in 1997 for outstanding contribution      in the field of Surgery.
“Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2001 by Madras Medical College.
“Human Excellence Award” in 2001 by Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence.
“Overseas Gold Medal” in 2005 by The Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh for outstanding contribution in the field of Endocrine Surgery.

He has delivered innumerable orations both nationally and internationally and is a Visiting Professor to several Universities. .
